I thought long and hard on how to best explain skin tones.. I decided to search the Internet for Celebrity Sunless Tans and I found quite a few. On some people it is obvious that they are tanned, but for others it is more difficult to spot. In some instances I could even be wrong, especially with darker skin types. After all it could be a sun tan, bronzer, photo shop or even different lighting. So, if some Celebrity Sunless Tans are not a true image of what really is there I apologize, but my aim was to show you what a sunless tan can do for different skin types. I have arranged the photos so that you can see their real skin color first and then progressively darker tans.
Here we go with the big reveal from lightest skin (type I), to the darkest (type V and beyond):
Her mishaps with sunless tanning are famous. A natural redhead with very fair skin which is prone to freckles, she uses sunless tanning to camouflage this fact, often with disastrous (although amusing) results.
On the second photo below, she has a light sunless tan, which is the one she should stick to. She looks lovely! Very pale skin does not take kindly to dark sunless tans that is why in the third photo she glows orange even at night. And last, a sunless tan that is in the process of developing after a session. I think that she just looks scary until she has a shower, and then the bronzer will be washed off and she will look alot better. Nothing will help the lips though...
Anna looks great pale or with a airbrush tan. Here she is with a light tan and a slightly darker one, which is still OK on her skin.
Paris Hilton usually does airbrush tans pretty well (photo 2), but on the last photos the tan is wearing Paris, not the other way around.
On the first photo she is not airbrushed and STILL look great. For a pale person like me (type II), I would give anything to have this type of skin. She can wear any shade of airbrush tan and she will always look great. Not much chance of going orange here.
On the first photo you will see that without any tan, Kim's skin is sort of gray. This type of skin NEEDS a tan to be at its best. She can get a light tan for a glow down to the very darkest one for an exotic look! On the photo shopped image below, you can see exactly what a light tan would look like on her and a darker one (I always thought that darker tan will make you look thinner, but not in this case LOL). The last photo of Kim is with a very dark airbrush tan.
This skin type does not typically need an airbrush tan. There are usually 3 reasons: During the winter months skin type V can lose its glowing golden color and look either gray or yellowish. Skin color is uneven. Just like with any other skin type the places that never see sunlight are much lighter than the rest of the body and clients want an all over tan. They have Vitiligo, which means that their skin is losing its color in patches. With darker skin, Vitiligo is very visible. Using airbrush tan skillfully can camouflage this condition on all skin types. Halle Berry & Naomi Campbell are stunning women with perfect skin However, I wanted to give you a feel of what they would look like with a airbrush tan, so I included photos where it looks like they MIGHT have had one. Again, did they actually have it on? - I have no idea....
